You can get a library card, borrow or book document, whether you live in Plaine Commune or not. It is easy and free!
How to get a card?
The membership card is free and usable in every Plaine Commune libraries. It allows you to borrow documents and to access the libraries electronic resources.
To create your card, go to any library with the following documents:
- For an adult: a proof of identity (identity card or passport) and a recent letter showing name and address.
- For a minor (under eighteen years old): a parental consent filled by the adult responsible of the child or teenager and a recent letter showing name and address.
You can also register online on the french website and ask for a card to a librarian afterwards.
The online registration does not allow you to borrow a document. You would only be able to use libraries computers.
Borrow a document
You are allowed to borrow 30 documents in the same time, including 10 DVDs.
You have the possibility to renew it for 4 weeks, if the document is not booked by another user. This can be done online, by phone or directly with a librarian.
You can return documents to the library or to the mobile library (bibliobus) of your choice, with or without your card.
Reserve a document
You are allowed to reserve 4 documents at a time. You are also allowed to select the library from which you would like to collect your items.
You can place a reservation online from your personal account, or do it with a librarian.
You will be informed by text message or email when your documents are available: then you will have 15 days collect them.
